Seiko Harima lives and works in Los Angeles and Japan. The focus of her current work is to translate the Earth’s beauty and fragility, into oil on canvas landscape paintings. Her primary objective is for her artworks to reveal the sublime. Her landscapes are created using vivid colours, which sometimes venture far beyond a traditional landscape view, as we know it.
In addition, she feels a responsibility, for her paintings to show that, the landscape is not immune to the impact of our presence. Through layered brushwork and luminous color, she renders landscapes that are not simply seen as representations of place, but are living atmospheres—spaces where memory, emotion, and environmental awareness converge.
